Karama Connection was established to serve the poor, mostly those affected or infected by the AIDS virus. Our goal is to provide nutrition, medication and staff support to programs with whom we have established a long term partnership.
Established in May, 2005, our organization is passionate about helping those affected by the AIDS crisis in Africa. Our focus is to work on projects with children who are left vulnerable due to the AIDS pandemic. Most of work focuses on children living HIV positive.
Karama has been taking volunteers to Tanzania since January 2006. With these short term trips we are able to continue to have an ongoing relationships with programs we support. Volunteers have participated in numerous activities including teaching in the school, building, eye exams, nursing care and just hugs and a smile. Our volunteer program provides a small, intimate relationship allowing volunteers to be flexible. While we go with the purpose of helping most volunteers find this to be a life changing experience. We feel it is a mutual learning experience.
